Have these questions crossed your mind?

  • Why should I talk to my children about race? Isn’t that racist?
  • How do I talk about such big subjects with such a little person?
  • Am I prepared to handle a racial slur said by my child when I do not raise my child to speak that way?
  • How do I navigate this election season because it evokes issues around race, religion and gender?
  • How do I create an atmosphere where my child can benefit from diversity?
  • I think I am on the right track, but I wonder what other parents are saying/doing.

If any or all of these questions resonate with you, then this class is for you!

Nicole will be sharing all of the best practices and lessons learned that over 20 years of experience helping organizations, schools, and individuals navigate difficult conversations have taught her. As the mother of two beautiful daughters, she knows firsthand how difficult these conversations can be and she wants to help you navigate them more effectively.

In this 4 week class we will explore:

Key terms related to diversity, equity and inclusion that are child friendly and why they are essential to respectful and informative conversations.

Explore how parents can do internal work on themselves that they can, in turn, use as teachable moments.

Identify the positive and negative mindset, behaviors, and words that we adults have that make it difficult to have those tough conversations with your children.

Discover how to have effective and age appropriate conversations with children of all ages
